Completeness
How much useful business information is present across the sources customers and machines depend on.
Methodology · Version 1 in development
Our methodology will be public, versioned, and specific about what each finding can—and cannot—support.
Method before ranking
The Ground Truth Index measures observable properties of local business information. It does not measure business quality, customer satisfaction, or the value of a business to its community.
The first release will document its sample, observation dates, source types, field definitions, exclusions, weighting, uncertainty, and scoring version. Material changes will create a new methodology version rather than silently rewriting earlier results.
Five dimensions
How much useful business information is present across the sources customers and machines depend on.
How recently essential facts were checked, updated, or verified against current business reality.
How closely names, locations, contact details, categories, and other facts agree across platforms.
How clearly a business can be discovered, understood, and represented by AI and search systems.
Which facts are evidence-backed, which are public-source observations, and which remain inferred.
Evidence labels
Evidence-backed information supplied or checked through Ground Truth Verified and recorded with a verification date.
Information found in a named public source at a documented time, but not independently verified on site.
A conservative classification or description derived from available evidence and visibly labeled as an inference.
